About

Principal Software Engineer. Author of 11 Ruby libraries, 77M+ downloads. Building AI agents and distributed systems that run in production.
What I do
I design, build, and own production systems end to end: distributed platforms, real-time data systems, and AI agents doing real work in production.
Selected work
Over 20+ years, that has looked like:
- A real-time credit bureau processing 100,000+ inquiries per day at 99.99% availability with sub-second latency, which contributed directly to Clarity Services’ $100M acquisition by Experian.
- An event-driven rules engine on Elixir, Phoenix, and Kafka that pivoted Salesloft from a static sales funnel to a real-time revenue workflow.
- Most recently, AI agents built into a production CI/CD pipeline that review every pull request for regulatory compliance, credit-bureau reporting (Metro 2), and security violations.
Open source
I’m the author of 11 open-source libraries with over 77 million combined downloads, including Semantic Logger (35M) and Symmetric Encryption (6M), in daily production use worldwide. Still actively shipping: I released new versions of four of them in July 2026 using AI-agentic workflows, delivering in days what previously took weeks.
The full list, with write-ups, is on the home page.
AI as a working multiplier
That’s the thread in my recent work: AI as a working engineering multiplier, not a slide. I created an “AI Skills” methodology, precisely structured business requirements that frontier models turn into production-ready code, that roughly doubled per-engineer productivity, with zero major compliance incidents.
Speaking
I speak at ElixirConf and RailsConf, and contributed a fix adopted by the Rails core team. See Talks.
